It seems like I suddenly woke up and was fat. Not just a little fat - a lot fat. In my head I am still a 17 year old, 150 lb girl. In reality I am a 285 lb 40 year old woman. How did that happen?! I'm going to take back my life, 1 lb at a time. Follow my journey.

The Beginning
Here I am, the end of another year. A year in which I had decided to get healthy and fit. A year in which i did NOT get healthy nor fit. In fact, I am about 60 lbs heavier than I was last year at this time.
2011 - the year I lost 50 lbs until I injured my foot in November of that year. The same injury that I used as an excuse to not exercise and to eat whatever I wanted (did you know that unhealthy food is not really food? It's just chemicals!). The year I did my first 5k walk, the year I first rode a bicycle (well, since childhood).
2012 - the year I gained 60 lbs. The year I continued to eat chemicals. The year I exercised off and on. The year I went back to school to begin studying for a nutrition degree. The year I turned 40. The year I went on my first cruise (it was amazing!). Here I am in all my 285 lb glory:
2013 - the year I am planning on losing at LEAST 85 lbs. The year I will drastically cut down on the chemicals I consume. The year I will continue to attend school, despite the scheduling challenges. The year I will finally stop all the negative talk (I am not fat, I HAVE fat). The year I will finally embrace what living is all about, at least I hope. It's a tall order, but I know I can do it. I hope you join me to see how I change, I'm excited by the possibilities.
